There is now have a Red Cross referral for family linking inquiries. Families can register the names of people unaccounted for in Haiti on the ICRC family links site.

The U.S. State Department Operations Center said Americans seeking info about family members in Haiti should call 1-888-407-4747. Due to heavy volume, some callers may experience a long wait or receive a recording.

Your inquiry will be sent to the disaster area, where SATERN personnel will attempt to locate the person or persons about whom you are inquiring.”
